Our History
Seibold Baker has grown into a large regional rep organization serving Chicagoland, downstate Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. How we got here is a great American success story.
Founded in 1971 by Jim’s father – Bill Seibold – then Seibold & Associates was one of the first regional manufacturer rep firms in our industry. Bill and his son Jim, with the help of some really great sales professionals grew Seibold & Associates to an industry leader. Jim joined the firm in the early '80’s and has been dedicated to growing our firm since.
Jim became the Principal and owner as Bill retired in the mid '90’s. Bill continues to work for us part-time and act as a valuable consultant as our “Chairman Emeritus”. Seibold & Associates grew and thrived during this transition. In 2004, Marty Baker joined the firm as a partner with Jim and Seibold Baker was formed. Marty was the Vice President of Sales for Metro Furniture (now Coalesse) and before that ran a successful dealership in Toledo, OH.
Adding to our exciting growth, Seibold Baker expanded in to the Chicagoland and downstate Illinois market in October 2014. We have rapidly built a leading rep organization and have added several industry leading manufacturing partners. Colin Baker brought his sales experience and energy to Seibold Baker in October 2016. He is focused primarily on dealer development and broadening our reach in the market. Colin has significant sales experience with large multi-national companies--Booking.com and Reynolds & Reynolds. Sara Kukatla joined our IL sales team in May of 2017. Sara's strong background, as a designer and in design sales, adds a significant sales resource to our team. Marty and Jim are active in the market managing both dealer and specifier relationships.
We will continue to build our regional brand in Chicago and offer our customers new and exciting options. Seibold Baker is committed to a strategy of attracting and retaining the very best sales talent and leading with true manufacturer partners. We are writing new history every day!
